This morning at Pierre-Elliott Trudeau airport, it was snowing very hard just before boarding time, so hard that planes had to get defrost before taking off. Luckily, there were no delays for us!
After 15 hours in the plane, we finally arrived to Narita airport! After clearing customs, we went to purchase the Suica card & NEX ticket, and exchange the JR Pass.
The Suica card is like the Opus card in Montreal, but in better (similar to the Octopus card in Hong Kong). So I can charge it with money and take metros and buses, and even use it as cash at convenience stores and vending machines.
On the other hand, the JR pass is a train pass where I can use to take trains operated by the JR company unlimitedly during a certain period. I bought a 14-day pass so I can use it for long-distance travels after I leave Tokyo.
The weather in Tokyo is quite chilly at night, so what's better than having a bowl of ramen? Slurp! :P
Ok, time to go to bed and get ready for our first day in Tokyo tomorrow! Goodnight! :)
Glad you guys arrived safely!! The ramen looks amazing!! Have lots of fun!!!
ReplyDeleteFinally, I arrived to Japan! I'm so happy and excited for this moment. It's colder than I expect, we'll see tomorrow if it's better. Now, I'm going to Zzz, I'm very tired after a long travel of day.
ReplyDeleteenjoy your trip in this amazing destination! looking at the ramen makes me hungry :) have fun and take care!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great first day! How was the ramen? Your room looks so spacious! I was expecting tinier in Japan! Hope you're having a good time so far! :D
ReplyDeleteRamen was delicious!! About the room, I actually paid extra to have a queen bed since I'll be staying here for 8 nights! I don't expect other hotels to be as big (and actually, the room is quite small, what you see is what it is + washroom).
DeleteHave a great time! Looking forward to reading more posts! Ramen looks delicious!
